Summers in India promise to be hot and sweltering and surely the 2018 summer season is going to be no different. This means that wearing full-sleeved and long clothes is going to be nigh on impossible. Along with this comes the constant search for comforting foods that cool the body and moisten the parched throat. This is when we tend to binge on anything our body craves and drink sodas and sugary drinks that don’t do much in the way of helping. Here is a simple summer diet plan that you can follow to help you feel light and energetic while at the same time help combat some of the effects of the scorching summer heat. Especially for the non-vegetarian lovers, who feel like they can’t have meat because its summer, the myth is now busted.

Breakfast:  You can have two or three fresh fruits as they are natural sources of energy. You can also have boiled eggs if you do not wish to have fruits for breakfast. These help you by neutralizing the stomach acids and also make you feel active.

Mid-morning: Have a glass of buttermilk or coconut water. They help you feel refreshed and restore some of the water that your body loses to sweat and dehydration as the temperatures rise. Avoid eating heavy foods at this time.

The number of rotis may vary everyday according to your appetite.  If you want to have dal make, sure that it is thin as it is easier to digest then. You can also have meats like chicken or seafood for lunch but make sure that the meat is fresh, clean and has been properly cooked.

Mid-afternoon:  At this time also you can have butter milk or coconut water. If you do not want to have either of those aam panna, the in season raw mango juice is also a good option. The panna helps balance the electrolytes in your body and prevent weakness and sunstrokes.
